Fauquier Health Names DAISY Award Honoree
September 5, 2024
Amanda Pavone, BSN-RN was named Fauquier Health’s DAISY Award Honoree for the second quarter of 2024. The award celebrates and recognizes nurses by collecting nominations from patients, families, and co-workers. Amanda was nominated by several patients under her care.
“Amanda was very supportive of my birth plan. She always advocated for me and my baby, and she also showed my husband ways he could help me get through my contractions,” one new mom shared in her letter. “Even though her shift had ended at 7 pm, she stayed on to help deliver my baby.”
Amanda is from Warrenton, having lived here for more than thirty years. She joined the Fauquier Health team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for about six years. She rejoined the team as an BSN-RN in 2022. “I worked in the ER for six years and loved being able to help someone in difficult times,” said Amanda. “Now, being a Labor and Delivery nurse, it’s such an amazing moment. Being there to share my patients’ joy in bringing a little one into the world gives my goosebumps.”
“Amanda went above and beyond to make me feel like I was her only patient,” shared another new mom. “She was kind and calm – we knew we were in great hands. Her light and warm personality made us feel at ease. Thank you for stellar staff that makes this miraculous event so much more wonderful.”
“Nurses at Fauquier Health are special,” said Toni Maxwell, APRN, FNP-BC, Chief Nursing Officer at Fauquier Health. “Amanda’s commitment to her patients is what great nursing is all about. Not only is Amanda our Daisy honoree this quarter, but she was recently recognized as a Guiding Star for patient safety as well. We are so glad to have Amanda on our team.”
