Hyperbaric Services
Oxygen is essential for wound healing. During hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), a patient is given 100% oxygen in a pressurized environment in sessions, or dives, that can last 90 minutes to two hours. The combination increases the amount of oxygen in your bloodstream, enhancing your ability to rebuild tissue, fight infection and promote healing.
Up to 18% of wound care patients use HBOT treatments to boost wound healing. Physicians specializing in hyperbaric medicine oversee sessions with the assistance of clinically trained hyperbaric technicians. You must be evaluated by a provider first to qualify for this treatment. We provide HBOT services for conditions approved by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) and Medicare/Medicaid.
Hyperbaric medicine may help if you suffer from one of these indications:
- Crush injury
- Delayed radiation injury (soft tissue and bony necrosis)
- Diabetic foot ulcer
- Frost bite
- Osteomyelitis (refractory)
- Skin graft in danger of failing
- Sudden-onset hearing loss
HBOT sessions take place in a comfortable room with clear sides so you can see your surroundings and a TV for your enjoyment. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a safe treatment, and we follow stringent safety protocols aligned with the UHMS, clinical practice guidelines, and industry best practices. We ensure every patient receives detailed information before their initial treatment.
What Are the Benefits of Wound Treatment?
