For the second consecutive year, Fauquier Health was named a Top General Hospital by The Leapfrog Group, highlighting its nationally recognized achievements in patient safety and quality. The Leapfrog Top Hospital award is widely acknowledged as one of the most competitive awards American hospitals can receive.

More than 2,400 hospitals were considered for the award. Among those, Fauquier Health received a Top General Hospital distinction, the only such designation in Virginia. The quality of patient care across more than 30 areas of hospital performance are factored into the recognition, including infection rates, practices for safer surgery, maternity care, infection rates and the hospital’s capacity to prevent medication errors, among other standards.
