Emergency Care at Fauquier Health

August 10, 2025

“This hospital is top-notch. I recommend Fauquier Health to friends and family with confidence” says Dr. Eric Ahlers, an Emergency Department Physician at Fauquier Health. “We have far more resources here than your typical community hospital. We have access to cardiology, urology, GI, and other things that similar hospitals don’t have. We live in a location where you can choose where to go, and I tell friends and family that this is 100% where they want to come”

The Emergency Department team at Fauquier Health is trained in providing emergency care. When patients don’t feel well, are hurting or are concerned that “something isn’t right", Dr. Ahlers tells people “It’s never the wrong thing to do to come into the Emergency Department if you have a health concern. We can assess and diagnose patients and get them on the path to the proper treatment.”

“Our biggest strength is the core group of people that we have here. The quality of personnel, the leadership and the relationship between our Emergency Physicians and the hospital exceeds what you would expect to find in other hospitals.”

“Fauquier Health is committed to being the best possible hospital we can be for our community. We have received national recognition for the quality of our care. This is a unique place. The quality and experience of our physicians and staff is excellent. I can’t say enough about the team and how well we work together to care for our patients.”

Emergency Medicine gives Dr. Ahlers the chance to help people when they need it most – when they are sick or injured and need care right away. “I love working in the Emergency Department at Fauquier Health. It’s nice to know I’m working alongside people who live here, and we are treating our neighbors; people who are in our community.”

Dr Ahlers and his wife, also an Emergency physician, moved to the area in 2017, after he completed his residency at Christiana Hospital in Delaware. “I am from Pennsylvania and my wife is from Texas; we wanted a milder climate than the one I grew up in, but not somewhere as hot as Texas, so Virginia seemed like a great solution. We came to the area and quickly fell in love with Warrenton and Fauquier County.”

“I love the small-town feel, that my kids get to grow up participating in things like the Fourth of July Parade, the Christmas parade. We realized quickly after we came here that this was home and we came to appreciate this community. We enjoy living in Warrenton and raising our family here.”
