Fauquier Health Earns Top Honors from Lifepoint Health
March 11, 2025WARRENTON, Virginia (March 11, 2025) – Fauquier Health, a part of Lifepoint Health, recently earned top awards for quality and operations excellence at the organization’s annual awards ceremony held in Nashville, Tennessee. The hospital’s chief executive officer Rebecca Segal, FACHE, was also recognized with a top leadership award.
Lifepoint’s Quality and Service Award recognizes one facility across the company with the most impressive quality results for the past year. As this year’s recipient, Fauquier Health was recognized for significant reductions in preventable harms, increases in employee and patient satisfaction ratings and consecutive Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades of “A” over past grading cycles. Additionally, the hospital was recognized in December by the Leapfrog Group as one of 36 Top General Hospitals nationwide and was the only hospital in Virginia to earn this prestigious recognition.
Fauquier Health also earned the Operations Excellence Award for demonstrating a strong commitment to and measurably improving the following areas in the prior year – quality improvement, service line growth, talent and workforce development and engagement, financial performance and strengthening the facility’s role in the community.
The awards were accepted by Segal and Fauquier Health’s chief financial officer Janelle Padgett and chief nursing officer Toni Maxwell.
“Fauquier Health is proud to receive these awards, which highlight our entire team’s commitment to strengthening hospital operations and advancing quality and healthcare delivery in Warrenton, Fauquier County and the surrounding region,” said Segal. “Over the past two years, we have doubled down on supporting our people, retaining and attracting top talent and building a stronger culture, and I cannot be prouder of our team.”
In addition to the hospital awards, Segal was presented with the Fleetwood Award, awarded annually to a hospital leader who exemplifies the values and spirit of Lifepoint’s former chief executive officer, the late Jim Fleetwood. Fleetwood believed that it was important to lead by example and inspire others to achieve their goals, even during challenging times. Segal was recognized for embodying many of the admirable qualities that Fleetwood possessed, including a leadership style that emphasizes collaboration and upholds high standards, the desire and ability to build strong relationships with hospital employees and physicians, strength of judgment and character and exemplary service to the community.
“The hospital has made great strides over the past year in delivering high quality patient care and meeting specific quality benchmarks, while also building strong relationships with employees, physicians, board members and the community,” said Jason Zachariah, EVP and chief operating officer at Lifepoint Health. “Rebecca keeps Lifepoint’s mission, vision and values at the forefront, and her leadership has been at the forefront of the hospital’s achievements. We are very proud to recognize the Fauquier team and Rebecca with these well-deserved awards.”
