Our Family Birthing Center staff understand that breastfeeding is a process for both mother, partner and baby. Although breastfeeding is a completely natural process, it does not always come easily. It is a learning experience and takes time before it can feel "normal." We strive to equip mom with the education and confidence she needs to help with breastfeeding her baby.
Lactation Professionals
Lactation consultants are available to help new mothers while they are in the hospital. All consultants are International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) and registered nurses.
Lactation specialists can visit with new moms in the hospital to educate, assist, troubleshoot, and encourage milk supply. Lactation professional strive to prepare moms for going home. They can also help nursing mothers learn how to properly pump their breast milk.
