ER Wait Time: mins
When you are ready to embark on a life changing weight loss journey, Fauquier Health is here to help you every step of the way. Fauquier Health now offers a surgical weight loss program for individuals where traditional weight loss options have not been successful. While eating a well-balanced diet and regular exercise are the best ways to lose weight, we know it does not always work for everyone. Over 15 million people in the United States are considered morbidly obese and an estimated 75% of those individuals develop other diseases directly related to obesity. These co-morbid conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure or heart disease can result in a shorter lifespan.
At Fauquier Health we want to arm individuals with all of the pertinent information necessary to make the right decisions to reach optimal health and wellness. Significant weight loss has shown to have a direct impact on the life threatening diseases associated with weight loss, and can be attributed to reversing these diseases in some instances. Weight loss surgery requires a lifelong dedication to health and wellness. The process begins three to six months prior to surgery and continues for a lifetime.
Patients will have access to a dedicated team pre- and post-surgery that will ensure patients are equipped with pertinent information about the process. Fauquier Health also offers informational seminars for pre-surgery patients and support groups for pre and post-surgery patients.
The surgical weight loss team includes the surgeon, registered dietitians, registered nurses, psychologists, exercise physiologists and others to provide all the needed support to reach a successful outcome. The team will answer questions and provide step-by-step support throughout the process to keep patients on track for weight loss success and ultimately, improved wellbeing. Our bariatric coordinator is available to answer questions and guide individuals through all of the options. In this journey, we know there are many choices to be made and steps to be taken. The hands on navigation and education will equip those interested in weight loss surgery with the confidence they need to make the best decisions for themselves. The most important person on the team is you!
