Fauquier Health is committed to providing the highest quality of care and ensuring the safety of our patients, employees, providers, volunteers and visitors. We continue to monitor the evolving situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19) on a daily basis and are taking the necessary steps to ensure we provide a safe environment of care for patients, in accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and in partnership with our local and state health departments.
In an effort to help prevent further spread of the COVID-19 virus, we have enacted limited visitation to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and patients. The facility continues to encourage use of alternative mechanisms for patient and visitor interactions such as video-call applications on cell phones or tablets. There may be specific circumstances where use of technology will be the only acceptable form of patient and visitor interactions.
COVID-19 VISITOR POLICY

All approved visitors may enter the facility upon passing a temperature check (100° F and below) and providing acknowledgement of the required screening questions. Face masks/coverings are required for entry. Visiting hours for approved visitors will be limited to 11:00am-6:00pm. Admitted patients may be eligible to have one or more visitors during their stay, depending on the circumstances. See below for details:
Inpatients (patients requiring hospital stay)
Patients admitted to 3rd floor will be allowed one visitor at a time. Patients with developmental disabilities may have a support person as needed outside of the normal visitation hours.
Patients receiving end of life care, on the 3rd floor, are allowed two visitors so long as the patient is not COVID-19 positive, or is under investigation. Additional family members are required to remain outside of the facility but may take turns as approved visitors.
Patients that are COVID-19 positive, or are under investigation, will not be authorized for any visitors. Additional means of technology may be utilized for patient and visitor interactions (including video-call applications on cell phones or tablets).
Pediatric and Intermediate Care Nursery (ICN) patients will be authorized two consistent visitors.
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients will be authorized one visitor at a time.
Family Birthing Center patients will be limited to one consistent support person.
Outpatients (patients not requiring hospital stay)
Emergency Department (ED) patients will be allowed one designated visitor who is required to stay in the patient’s room. If the visitor leaves the room, they will not be granted re-entry. Additional visitors will be required to wait outside the facility and cannot wait in the ED waiting room or any other waiting area in the facility.
Operating Room (OR), Outpatient Special Procedures (OPSP), Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology (IR) patients will be allowed one designated visitor if one or more of the following apply:
The patient is a minor
The patient requires assistance due to altered cognitive state or developmental disability
The patient is receiving care post procedure in the second stage recovery area (visitors MUST remain outside of the building during the procedural phases of care)
NOTE: Patients with altered mobility receiving care in OR, OPSP, Cath Lab and IR will be assisted/transported by hospital personnel.
Medical Imaging and Outpatient Laboratory patients will be allowed one consistent visitor when one or more of the following apply:
The patient is a minor
The patient requires assistance due to altered cognitive state
The patient has altered mobility and requires assistance
All other Outpatient Departments (such as Cardiopulmonary and Infusion) will be allowed one consistent visitor if one or more of the following apply:
The patient is a minor
The patient requires assistance due to altered cognitive status or developmental disability
NOTE: Patients with altered mobility receiving care in these areas will be assisted/transported by hospital personnel
All visitors will be encouraged to bring their own facemask or face covering when entering any Fauquier Health system building. The following instructions will be provided upon arrival:
Approved visitor sticker MUST be worn at all times showing approved visitation status.
Hand hygiene MUST be performed frequently including upon arrival and departure.
Approved visitors are restricted to the patient’s room or designated treatment area
Delivery vendors require screening and check-in at the loading dock entrance. Must wear approved visitor sticker.
Company representatives for IT or clinical procedure areas are required to enter through the front/main entrance and must obtain a vendor badge and sign in at the information desk (if applicable).
Food delivery drivers not permitted inside the facility.
FACILITY ENTRANCE POLICY

The front main lobby entrance is open to staff and patients receiving services (Monday-Friday, 6:00am until 7:00pm).
The ER entrance will be the single point of entrance Monday-Friday, 7:00pm through 6:00am and all day Saturday and Sunday.
Visiting hours for designated visitors (see Visitation Policy below) will be limited to 11:00am-6:00pm.
A staff only screening entrance has been opened allowing quicker entry for staff members, including providers. Badge entry only.
Approved facility vendors must receive and pass screening measures at the loading dock before entry is allowed. Vendors are not permitted through any other entrance. This entrance is available Monday-Friday 7:00am until 3:30pm (see Visitation Policy below)

COMMUNITY ACTIVITY POLICY

The Bistro on the Hill will remain closed to outside patrons/parties coming in to have a meal (includes Senior Supper attendees and support group meetings).
The Bistro on the Hill will only serve to Fauquier Health staff, patients and approved visitors.
All external activities held at the Fauquier Health Conference Center rooms are cancelled until further notice. Some activities may resume through virtual means, please keep checking our Facebook page and events page on our website.
The Fauquier Health Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and the Villa at Suffield Meadows have enacted strict zero-visitor policies. All facility sponsored outings have been cancelled until further notice (including trips to the movies, restaurants and shopping areas). All resident care plans will be done in a virtual matter to continue to engage the families of the residents.

Outpatient laboratory draw services located at Fauquier Hospital is open Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm. STAT testing, ordered by a provider, is the only outpatient laboratory draw testing available on Saturday and Sunday.
Fauquier Health Physician Services offices are open and are also offering appointments via telehealth. Visit FHDoctors.org to find a provider right for you.

To help support the health of our community, we are providing access to an online COVID-19 risk assessment developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This tool does NOT provide a diagnosis, and it should NOT be used as a substitute for an assessment made by a healthcare provider.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Masks- N95, Isolation and Surgical
Surgical & Scrub Caps
Masks- handsewn 100% cotton
Touchless thermometers - infrared and temporal
Please deliver homemade masks and caps in sealed plastic storage bags. Homemade masks and surgical/scrub caps should be made of cotton material. All donations must be in original, unopened containers/boxes at this time to maintain infection control standards.
In an effort to maintain the safety of our staff, we are unable to accept donations of homemade food. Any donation of food must be commercially prepared or store bought items that are sealed and/or individually wrapped. We kindly ask that you call ahead to schedule food donations.
Donations are greatly appreciated and may be dropped off at Fauquier Hospital loading dock, located at 500 Hospital Drive, Warrenton in the rear of the hospital. Donations are being accepted 9:00am – 3:00pm Monday through Friday.
