On November 1, 2013 The Fauquier Health Board of Directors and LifePoint Hospitals® finalized their joint venture agreement to share ownership and operation of Fauquier Health. The joint venture will bring $52.8 million in capital investments to Fauquier Health over the next 10 years and provide more than $100 million to fund a charitable foundation to support crucial community needs.
The Fauquier hospital staff takes great pride in providing nurturing, patient-centered care. Family and friends are welcome anytime, day or night, and each of the 97 patient rooms is designed as a single-occupancy room with a bed for a caregiver to spend the night.
“Hospital food” is also out-of-the-ordinary at Fauquier Health; The Bistro on the Hill provides food options for patients and their guests. Earning a reputation of its own in Warrenton, Virginia, the Bistro serves everything from brick-oven pizza to gourmet pasta, from a fresh soup and salad bar to shrimp stir-fry. Bakers keep the dessert case filled with fresh cakes and pies, cookies and tarts. Community groups frequently congregate at The Bistro, and catering for off-site events is available.
Fauquier Hospital was among the first five in the nation – and the only one in Virginia – to claim the patient-centered care designation.
What does this mean? Fauquier Hospital has been recognized nationwide for doing the most advanced work in patient-centered care. The hospital was judged on more than 40 specific criteria, relating to quality of care and the ways in which that care is delivered.
Becoming a Planetree-designated site was, for Fauquier Hospital, not an end, but a beginning. The hospital’s administration and staff continue to strive for patient-centered innovation.
