- Fauquier Health is the first in the Northern Virginia area to offer the large bore MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) system that offers a much wider bore (opening) for larger or claustrophobic patients. The response from patients was overwhelming.
- Fauquier Hospital was formally designated by Planetree, Inc. as a “Planetree designated patient-centered hospital” for the second time in three years. This designation recognizes Fauquier Hospital’s achievement and innovation in fostering a culture within the hospital in which professional caregivers partner with patients and families, and where patient comfort, dignity, empowerment and well-being are prioritized with providing top-quality clinical care.
- After more than a year of hard hat construction and behind-the-scenes toil, The Villa at Suffield Meadows -- Fauquier Health’s assisted-living facility – welcomed residents September 13, 2010. The Villa is a beautiful two-story facility designed to look and feel like an elegant Virginia estate. It features fifty-six assisted-living apartments, ranging from studios to two-bedroom apartments, with kitchenettes.
- Fauquier Hospital was recognized in the February 2010 edition of Northern Virginia Magazine as a five-star hospital for Gastrointestinal Surgeries and Procedures, Pancreatitis. The honor was bestowed based on the hospital’s HealthGrades Specialty Excellence Award. HealthGrades analyzes objective physician and hospital data and provides ratings based on the findings.
- After an intensive review and thorough site visit, the Breast Cancer Center at the Cancer Center at Lake Manassas has been granted a three-year full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons.
- The new Infusion Center opened in the hospital.
