Recent Milestones at Fauquier Health

  •   On 10/31/2013 Fauquier Health officially became part of LifePoint Hospitals. This joint venture will help us strengthen our operations and enhance medical services offered in Warrenton and the surrounding region. Over the next decade, the joint venture will invest in capital improvements at Fauquier Health, and more than $150 million will fund the formation of a new locally governed charitable foundation to support needs in our community.

  •     Fauquier Hospital has installed two Toshiba CT scanners (computerized tomography) designed to deliver a significantly lower radiation dose. With the new CT scanners, typical CT scans will demonstrate up to a 70 percent reduction in radiation exposure; head/brain CT scans will provide an approximately 50 percent reduction. The new scanner technology gives us the ability to acquire the best possible images at the lowest possible radiation and contrast doses.

  •     Fauquier Health is the first in the Northern Virginia area to offer the large bore MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) system that offers a much wider bore (opening) for larger or claustrophobic patients. The response from patients was overwhelming.

  •     Fauquier Hospital was formally designated by Planetree, Inc. as a “Planetree designated patient-centered hospital” for the second time in three years. This designation recognizes Fauquier Hospital’s achievement and innovation in fostering a culture within the hospital in which professional caregivers partner with patients and families, and where patient comfort, dignity, empowerment and well-being are prioritized with providing top-quality clinical care.

  •     The Villa at Suffield Meadows was opened -- Fauquier Health’s assisted-living facility - a beautiful two-story facility designed to look and feel like an elegant Virginia estate. It features fifty-six assisted-living apartments, ranging from studios to two-bedroom apartments, with kitchenettes.

  •     Fauquier Hospital was recognized in the  Northern Virginia Magazine as a five-star hospital for Gastrointestinal Surgeries and Procedures, Pancreatitis. The honor was bestowed based on the hospital’s HealthGrades Specialty Excellence Award. HealthGrades analyzes objective physician and hospital data and provides ratings based on the findings.

  •     The new Infusion Center opened in the hospital.
