The Fauquier Health Wound Healing Center takes an interdisciplinary approach to wound treatment and healing due to the complex nature of chronic wounds. The combined knowledge of many health care disciplines is vital for effective chronic wound care management.
The Center uses a number of specialized wound care therapies to aid in wound closure, new tissue growth, wound tissue regeneration and much more. One of our premier services is hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) may help speed the wound repair process and prevent further complications. It’s increases the amount of oxygen in the blood to saturate damaged tissue with oxygen. Patients who receive HBO inhale 100 percent oxygen at up to three times the normal atmospheric pressure. HBO drives more oxygen into the red blood cells to promote healing from the inside out.
Diabetic foot ulcers, which are a common and serious complication of diabetes, are an example of wounds that may benefit from HBO.

The Sleep Center can perform full diagnostic and treatment testing for sleep apnea (cessation of breathing, frequently associated with snoring), periodic limb movements (uncontrollable leg and/or body movements) and narcolepsy (uncontrollable sleep attacks).
