Fauqiuer Health's Center of Excellence for Joint Replacement earned the Joint Commission’s Certificate of Distinction for our commitment to excellence.
The Joint Commission — the oldest and largest accrediting agency for hospitals nationwide — awarded us the Certificate of Distinction in Joint Replacement after an extensive on-site visit to review the procedures and outcomes of our joint replacement patients.
Fauquier Health provides our joint replacement patients a truly comprehensive approach to patient care. Our team of orthopedic physicians, anesthesiologists, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and pain management physicians offers the best in expert diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation services.
Throughout the entire process — from the initial diagnosis through the post-surgery rehabilitation phase—we work together with our patients to develop individualized treatment and recovery plans. We also offer a pre-surgery joint replacement education class for patients and their caregivers, and a range of rehabilitation and post-operative therapy services to suit each person’s needs. Our board-certified and fellowship-trained physicians treat nearly every type of orthopedic condition, including problems related to the neck, shoulder and spine. Depending on the diagnosis, treatment may require medication, physical therapy, exercise, counseling, therapeutic injections and/or surgery. In those cases where surgery is recommended, our physicians specialize in the most advanced surgical techniques, including minimally-invasive, arthroscopic and computer-assisted procedures.
As part of the Fauquier Health orthopedic program, we care for all levels of competitive athletes. Our multi-disciplinary team of sports medicine physicians, family medicine specialists and physical therapists works collaboratively to develop a treatment plan tailored to each patient's needs. And in addition to diagnosing and treating all types of athletic injuries, our orthopedic surgeons specialize in reconstructive surgery. The primary goal is to help each patient achieve the highest possible level of function—which helps to get each athlete back on the playing field again.
Medical imaging and radiology help physicians detect, diagnose and treat disease. At Fauquier Health, we offer a full range of screening, diagnostic and interventional imaging and radiology procedures using the most advanced technology available. Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) services include physical and occupational therapy, as well as language pathology services for all ages. The primary goal is to return patients to an active, healthy lifestyle.
Physical therapists (PTs) help people with a range of orthopedic conditions or as they recover from orthopedic surgery. PTs can also work with individuals to prevent loss of mobility by developing fitness and wellness programs for healthier and more active lifestyles. Occupational therapists (OTs) can also help with recovery from orthopedic prodedures, as patients work to regain the skills they need to function independently in their daily lives.
For those planning on undergoing surgery, Fauquier Health's Wellness Center offers a Fit First program, which provides an opportunity to build muscle and stamina to accelerate healing after surgery. Experienced exercise physiologists guide patients through a six-week surgery readiness program.
After patients have been cleared by their physicians to resume exercise, the Wellness Center is a great way to ramp up to full activity. Classes and exercise equipment and advice are offered, as well as personal training sessions.
