Diabetes Self Management Education Class

Diabetes education classes help patients learn critical skills for diabetes self management. Fauquier Health’s Diabetes Self Management Education Classes are created especially for those living with diabetes and cover all areas of diabetes self management education, including:


-       Diabetes education

-       Diabetes nutrition

-       Exercise

-       Diabetes medication

-       Glucose testing and blood sugar monitoring

-       Insulin management and insulin pump therapy

-      Diabetes and your emotional health


When you sign up for the diabetes self management education training program, you’ll receive a free glucometer, test strips and lancets, as well as free membership to the Fauquier Wellness Center  during your enrollment.

Diabetes Self Management Education Classes, which require a doctor’s referral, include one-on-one sessions with a nurse and a dietitian, followed by eight hours of group diabetes education classes.

The diabetes management training program accepts Medicare and most insurance plans. Day, evening and weekend classes are now forming.
