Financial Assistance Fact Sheet - Spanish
Fauquier Hospital is proud of its mission to provide quality health care to all who need it. Our staff is very willing to work with our patients who do not have health insurance. If you are worried about how to pay for the services you receive at the hospital, we may be able to help. Fauquier Hospital provides financial assistance to patients based on their income, assets, and needs. We will also help you explore any federal or state programs you may be eligible for. We want to reduce your financial worry as much as possible.
It is very important that you contact our financial counseling office if you have any questions or concerns about payment of your bill. While all our patients who do not have health insurance will receive a reduction in their bill, you may be eligible for a larger reduction depending on your own personal situation. Please remember that if we do not hear from you, we can only assume that you plan to pay your balance in full in a timely manner. Federal and state laws require all hospitals to seek full payment of what they bill patients.
This means that your bill could be turned over to a collection agency and your credit could be affected if you do not pay your bill. Remember, we are here to help you avoid this situation. When you apply for financial assistance, we will ask you to do the following:
In addition to these documents, you may also be asked to produce unemployment benefits verification or child support documentation, depending on your personal situation.
For those who do not require or meet the requirements for financial assistance, Fauquier Hospital offers the following methods of payment:
A financial counselor is available by telephone from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at 540-316-2970. A counselor is also available in person from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. We will treat all questions with confidentiality and courtesy.
The physicians who provide services at Fauquier Hospital are not employees of the hospital; they are independent private practitioners. When physicians provide services through various hospital departments, you will receive a separate bill from both the hospital and the physician. In other words, these physician fees are not included in your hospital bill. If you need assistance with the physician bills, their billing services can be reached at the following telephone numbers:
