We treat:

  • Arterial insufficiency
  • Non-healing surgical wounds
  • Post-radiation tissue injury

A Better Healing Option

The Center uses a number of specialized wound care therapies to aid in wound closure, new tissue growth, wound tissue regeneration and much more. One of our premier services is hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) may help speed the wound repair process and prevent further complications. It increases the amount of oxygen in the blood to saturate damaged tissue with oxygen. Patients who receive HBO inhale 100 percent oxygen at up to three times the normal atmospheric pressure. HBO drives more oxygen into the red blood cells to promote healing from the inside out.

Diabetic foot ulcers, which are a common and serious complication of diabetes, are an example of wounds that may benefit from HBO.

Hyperbaric oxygen chambers are commonly used to treat:

  • Osteomyelitis (bone infection)
  • Compromised skin grafts and surgical flaps
  • Delayed radiation injury (complication of radiation therapy) including
radiation cystitis (bleeding from the bladder), radiation proctitis
(inflammation, damage and/or bleeding of colon)
  • Osteoradionecrosis
