September 17, 2012
The symptoms of stroke and/orTIA(transient ischemic attack) can include weakness, numbness, dizziness, vision problems or headache, even unconsciousness. How do you know when having one or more of these symptoms requires immediate emergency care? Neurologist Kristin Williams will clarify those questions during a lecture at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18. The event will be held at the Marshall Community Center at 4133-A Rectortown Road.
Dr. Williams, of Fauquier Health Neurology, will explain the differences between a TIA and a stroke, and the signs and symptoms of both. She will discuss the latest diagnostic tools and treatment options available, and what you should do if you think you or a loved one is having a TIA or a stroke.
