During this presentation Dr. Rustom will present ways to change the food culture in your house. Learn how to decide what and when to offer food, tips to make healthy eating a fun habit and ways to involve your children to make your house go from "Fast food to Health Food Choices."

Safe Sitter - Written by a pediatrician, this program presents instruction in babysitting skills and techniques including childcare essentials, behavior management, injury prevention, safety for sitter, care of choking and babysitting as a business. Class limited to those ages 11-14 years old.  Students will receive a copy of the Safe Sitter Student Handbook and a completioon card in a Safe Sitter messenger bag.  Visit  www.safesitter.org  to learn more about the class. The cost for this class is $60.

The Pacemakers 5K/10K and Kids Fun Run benefits you and the medical and dental patients of the Fauquier Free Clinic. Runners and walkers start from the Airlie Conference Center in Warrenton, Virginia. The course offers a rolling 5K or 10K route through scenic Airlie Farm and surrounding areas. All proceeds benefit the uninsured families of the Fauquier Free Clinic.

Costs for pre-registered adults are $25. Children under 12 are $10. All pre-registered participants receive an event t-shirt!

This class will teach you everthing you need to know about breastfeeding.  You'll learn about some common problems and mistakes and gain confidence in breastfeeding.  The class is taught by a hospital OB nurse who is also a lactation consultant.  This class is for expectant mother-to-be only. The class will be held from noon - 2 p.m. The cost for this class is $30 per attendee (lunch is included).

First Aid/CPR/AED (Adult, Infant and Child) is presented through the American Heart Association. This class will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on a Saturday in the hospital Sycamore Room. Cost for the class is $85.  Click here to register

AARP Driver Safety Program , taught by AARP representatives, is the nation's first and largest classroom refresher for motorists ages 50 and older. Participants must attend both days of the class from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.(Thursday, June 21 and Friday, Juune 22). The cost is $12.00 for AARP members and $14.00 for nonmembers. Registration is required. Please bring a check the day of class to pay the fee. Make checks payable to AARP and bring payment to class.  Please do not bring cash or mail checks to Fauquier Health.

Topics include diapering, bathing, cord care, circumcision care, feeding methods, infant safety, and how to comfort your baby when it's crying.  Also hear from a pediatrician on normal newborn appearance. Grandparents are also welcome to register. The fee for this class is $25.00 per person or $50.00 per couple. Each attendee must register separately. Class meets from 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.
