In addition to group exercise classes, Fauquier's Wellness Center offers a variety of educational classes and events, including support groups.

- Your Childbirth Experience : Weekend Class

Time: 6:00 PM

Discussion oriented and interactive, the class covers much more than just labor. It begins with your feelings during pregnancy, contains a lot of good information about labor, reviews breathing techniques and relaxation, and includes a maternity tour.   Friday, May 4 class is scheduled from 6 - 9 pm. Saturday,May 5 class is scheduled from 9 am - 3 pm. Please submit mother's name only if registering online.  The class fee is $120.00 per couple.  Click here to register

The number of Lyme disease cases has risen in Virginia every year since 2000. Dr. Golub will explain what Lyme disease is, what the ticks that carry Lyme disease look like and how to protect yourself from them as well as the lastest testing and treatments.

- Babysitter's Training Course

Time: 8:30 AM

Safe Sitter - Written by a pediatrician, this program presents instruction in babysitting skills and techniques including childcare essentials, behavior management, injury prevention, safety for sitter, care of choking and babysitting as a business. Class limited to those ages 11-14 years old.  Students will receive a copy of the Safe Sitter Student Handbook and a completioon card in a Safe Sitter messenger bag.  Visit  www.safesitter.org  to learn more about the class. The cost for this class is $60.

- Breastfeeding Made Simple

Time: 7:00 PM

This class will teach you everthing you need to know about breastfeeding.  You'll learn about some common problems and mistakes and gain confidence in breastfeeding.  The class is taught by a hospital OB nurse who is also a lactation consultant.  This class is for expectant mother-to-be only. The class will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The cost for this class is $25 per attendee.

- Baby Care Essentials

Time: 6:30 PM

Topics include diapering, bathing, cord care, circumcision care, feeding methods, infant safety, and how to comfort your baby when it's crying.  Also hear from a pediatrician on normal newborn appearance. Grandparents are also welcome to register. The fee for this class is $25.00 per person or $50.00 per couple. Each attendee must register separately. Class meets from 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.

During this seminar, Dr. Maghsoudi will address the non-classic symptoms of cardiac disease in women and how a cardiac event may not always present with crushing chest pain with shortness of breath - the classic symptoms... but the indigestion, back pain etc. and how they are often missed or mistaken for other disease processes.
