The responsibilities of an emergency medicine physician are the same wherever that physician chooses to practice: he must take care of his patients, keep current on new technologies and techniques, and practice quality medicine. But after working for more than two decades at some of the busiest hospitals in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, Dr. Larsen has come to appreciate the small-town, close-knit community feel at Fauquier Health. Board certified in emergency medicine, Dr. Kenneth Larsen does a lot more than treat acute illness and injury: he listens, comforts, counsels and inspires.
Education and Training
After earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1970, Dr. Larsen completed the Georgetown University Hospital Internal Medicine Internship and Residency Program.
Dr. Larsen joined Fauquier Health as a private practice physician with Virginia Emergency Medicine Associates in 1994. Prior to that, he was an emergency medicine physician for hospitals in Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia for 21 years.
Dr. Kenneth Larsen is married. Following his internship program, he was drafted and served for two years in the U.S. Army, and was also one of the first 250 physicians in the country to become board certified in emergency medicine.
