Caring for individuals when they are at their most vulnerable point is not just a job for Dr. Latif, it’s a passion. While attending medical school, Dr. Aamir Latif volunteered his services for the Salvation Army Homeless Clinic and the University of Georgia Telemedicine Program—an initiative that provides health care services to the underserved communities of rural Georgia via a network of computers, high resolution cameras and phone lines. Board certified in emergency medicine, Dr. Latif is a compassionate physician who is always willing to go the extra mile to meet the needs of his patients.
Education and Training
After earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 2000, Dr. Latif completed the Christiana Care Health System Emergency Medicine Internship and Residency Program. Prior to medical school, Dr. Latif earned a bachelor’s degree from Emory University and a master’s degree from Georgetown University.
Certifications and Proficiencies
Dr. Latif is certified in advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, advanced trauma life support, and neonatal advanced life support. He also is a registered diagnostic medical sonographer (emergency ultrasound).
Honors and Awards
Among his many academic honors, Dr. Aamir Latif graduated with honors from his master’s program in physiology at Georgetown University.
While attending undergraduate school, Dr. Latif was a research assistant for the Yerkes Regional Primate Center in Atlanta.
Dr. Aamir Latif joined Fauquier Health as a private practice physician with Virginia Emergency Medicine Associates in 2004. Prior to that, he was an emergency room physician with the Newark Emergency Center in Delaware. He has also been an instructor for various courses, including advanced cardiac life support, phase I physical diagnosis, and biochemistry.
