A solid education helps prepare an emergency medicine physician for the unique demands of the field. Dr. Patrick Meehan has studied, trained and worked at some of our country’s most prestigious universities, including Vanderbilt, Georgetown and Notre Dame. Board certified in emergency medicine, Dr. Meehan is admired for much more than his educational background and clinical knowledge. He’s also admired for his warm personality, great communication skills and compassionate bedside manner.
Education and Training
After earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2000, Dr. Meehan completed the Vanderbilt University Emergency Medicine Internship and Residency Program. Prior to medical school, Dr. Meehan earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of Notre Dame, and a master’s degree in physiology at Georgetown University.
Honors and Awards
Among his many honors, Dr. Patrick Meehan served as Chief Resident at Vanderbilt University.
Prior to joining Fauquier Health as a private practice physician with Virginia Emergency Medicine Associates in 2005, Dr. Meehan was an emergency medicine physician for Vanderbilt University and several hospitals and medical centers located near Nashville, Tennessee.
