Dr. Houska thoroughly embraces his responsibility as a primary care physician, and he takes special pride in knowing that he’s always there for his patients. Whether that means treating an elderly patient with an acute or chronic illness, educating a healthy adult about preventive care, or helping a young athlete recover from a sports injury, his patients know they can count on him to provide continuing and comprehensive care. Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Houska understands the importance of building trust into the doctor-patient relationship. Because for him, family medicine is all about creating lasting, caring partnerships with patients and their families.

Education and Training
After earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1988, Dr. Houska completed the Riverside Regional Medical Center Family Practice Internship and Residency Program.

Employment
Prior to joining Fauquier Health as a private practice physician with Countryside Family Practice in 1994, Dr. Houska was a family practice physician in Newport News and Massachusetts.

Personal Interests
Dr. Houska is married and has two children. In his spare time, he enjoys jogging, hiking, gardening, traveling and playing golf.
