Dr. Tabandeh is dedicated to promoting excellence in cardiovascular care. As evidence, he’s not only board certified in four different specialty areas, he’s also a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. This designation represents recognition of the highest professional achievement in cardiovascular subspecialties and is only granted to those physicians who have made considerable contributions to the community, and to those who are highly respected by their peers. Board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology and adult echocardiography, Dr. Tabandeh is a noninvasive cardiologist with a particular focus on echocardiography. His other areas of interest include preventive cardiology and sports physiology. Dr. Tabandeh is also highly respected by his patients. He is compassionate and sensitive to their needs because he always makes their heart health a priority.
Education and Training
After earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from Iran’s Azad University School of Medicine in 1993, Dr. Tabandeh completed the Mount Sinai School of Medicine/Cabrini Medical Center Internal Medicine Internship and Residency Program. Following, he completed the New York Medical College/Westchester Medical Center Cardiology Fellowship Program.
Honors and Awards
Among his many honors, Dr. Tabandeh scored in the 99th percentile on all of his medical board exams. He is also a fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American Board of Hospital Physicians.
Dr. Tabandeh has been in private practice at Fauquier Health with Virginia Cardiovascular Associates since 2003. Prior to his internship and residency program, he was a primary care physician in Iran.
Dr. Tabandeh participates in a variety of sports including running, biking, skiing, soccer, racquetball and tennis. He has enjoyed playing classical piano since the age of six and is known for his high technical skills.
